EmpowHER Has Arrived

Introducing the EmpowHER Newsletter

What is empowHER and who am I?

“Not another newsletter”, you might say. Well, I struggled with this very question for quite some time. I won't claim to be the ultimate wordsmith or the oracle of all wisdom, but what I truly cherish is the art of connecting, absorbing, and learning from the incredible women in business, and want to share my and others’ perspectives.

Hey there, I'm Nicole Harvey, also known as 'colee_commerce' on social, and I've been deeply immersed in the ecommerce world for over a decade. Join me on this exciting journey, while I create a space targeted at women in commerce.

Repetitively, I find myself in environments – be it events, workplaces, or summits – overwhelmingly dominated by men. Let me make it clear, it's not a dig at the men, but it can get pretty tiresome. The boys' club scene is draining, and while progress has been made, it's far from where it needs to be. Our voices, your voice, they matter just as much.

Creating a dedicated space for personal narratives, growth opportunities, education, events, and forging new connections is a personal crusade of mine. Instead of perpetually wondering why there isn't more out there for us, why not take matters into our own hands and build it?

So what should you expect from EmpowHER?

Well, I will start by saying there is going to be a lot of growing and figuring out what works and what doesn’t. I live my life outside of my comfort zone more than 50% of the time and this is outside of my comfort. I intend to truly connect with YOU. Providing a forum where you can easily find resources, may that be for funding, starting your own side hustle, investing, and finances. EmpowerHer will provide the tools readily and honestly in a way that doesn’t confuse you more than before you started.

I've been on the hunt for a platform that delivers industry news focusing on women founders, investors, and mentorship opportunities. I look for guidance on navigating a landscape where emotional intelligence is embraced, gender equality takes the lead, and women genuinely support and uplift each other.

What you should expect every month:

  • Talk Techy to Me

The majority focus will be on women-funded or led insights but it is also important to keep up with trending topics in the industry. The top 5 things you should know will be a simple and quick read - think spark notes for tech - aka you’re at a networking event and need something in your back pocket to make it sound like you aren’t just watching Bravo and know what the hell is going on.

  • Events

Monthly events is NYC, LA, Chicago & Toronto you want to check out!

  • Resources

Eliminating the amount of googling you do. I will provide you with services, agencies, books, online forums, and much more. Half the battle is finding the right resources to help you do what ya gotta do!

  • HER Spotlight

Connection is so important, every month I will be connecting with women founders, leaders, and just bad a$$ women. I will be highlighting them in a multitude of ways, but they will also be sharing their perspectives and journeys.

Ok, so the question is;

ARE YOU READY?
